Attended the pathetic Bears/Rams game in L.A. on Sunday and it was inspiring to see how well Chicago fans continue to travel, despite the team’s woes.

The Bears played very poorly – and Mitch got hurt???  At least that’s what Matt Nagy says.  Nagy was Mr. Personality last year, now everything he says reeks of shadiness.  Maybe that’s just the nature of losing.  Roquan Smith and the defense played well.  But overall, the most exciting thing about being in attendance was seeing the stadium where USC plays.  Definitely a college football feel at the old place.  Glad I made the trip out to visit my buddy Cass.  We had a good crew.  Saturday, I Ubered from Cass’ house in Cheviot Hills over to Santa Monica, where my buddy Kinger & his wife Andrea were staying at the fabulous Shutters by the Beach resort.  We spend several hours lounging in the sun and drinking cocktails.  Great day.  The entire group dined in Beverly Hills at an Italian restaurant and then Cass took us on a little tour of the Sunset Strip – including stops at legendary rock clubs The Viper Room, Whisky a Go Go & Rainbow Club.  Full Saturday of awesomeness.

Sunday we pregamed at casa de Cass with 75 catered tacos and plenty of White Claw.  Then we hopped the Metro over to the Coliseum to watch the Bears disappoint thousands.  Hey, the halftime entertainment was none other than Big Boi, which was a pleasant surprise:

Incredible long weekend.  I’ve shaken off the loss, because wallowing in Bears losses serves no purpose.  It’s a lost season.  Let’s hope they make some ballsy moves (Cam Newton?) in the offseason.
