When the Countryside Hooters debuted on LaGrange Road, Matt & I showed up for the grand opening with his infant son, Jackson.  Check out this throwback photo, in which the wide-eyed child clearly understood the glory of Hooters:

Fast forward a few years to last night’s Bears win over Washington.  We gathered with Matt’s brothers & dad + Dag for a watch party and to get down on some wings.  Hooters never disappoints for Monday Night Football.

We started out with 10 hot, then 10 hot & 10 smoked (a new Hooters offering – pretty good) then another 20 split the same way.  Then one more order of 10 hot.  We filled out the table with curly fries, mozzarella sticks, boneless hot wings, celery and even a surprise caesar salad.

For libations, we opted into the take home refillable Hooters Girl Cup for $9.95 with $6.95 refills.  They are perfectly proportioned and as it says on the back of the plastic cup, “delightfully tacky.”

That last picture above, featuring the cups of Coors Light & Bud Light in the right hand corner, was taken during the birthday dance.  Matt’s bday is in April, but we always say it’s his birthday and the Hooters Girls sing the Hooters bday song and make him do the chicken wing dance.  We enjoy it when we visit Hooters.  Traditions are important.  And Matt does a majestic chicken wing dance.

All that fun, beer & fried food – and I’ve hardly even touched on Khalil Mack’s dominance – 2 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and a lifelong role in Case Keenum’s nightmares.  Ha Ha Clinton-Dix had 2 interceptions; one of ’em a long pick 6.  This is the defense Chicago loves so deeply.  And – BONUS – Mitch Trubisky threw 3 touchdown passes to Taylor Gabriel in the 1st half.  He is 100% that Mitch!  Couldn’t be happier about the Bears right now.  Neither could the rest of the crowd at Countryside Hooters, many of them in Trubisky, Mack & Urlacher jerseys.  2-1.  Vikings next…at home.  I’ll be at Soldier Field.  Bears!!! Hooters!!! Everything!!!
