Yu Darvish is the ace!  8 innings of dominance against the Mets, save for a solo shot by the Polar Bear.  If the playoffs started today, Yu might get the Game 1 start.  Or would Joe give it to Lester as the experienced postseason guy?

Yu’s start was exactly the shot in the arm the Cubs needed as a road series win would be a big step in the right direction.  5-2 final in the Big Apple.  The Cardinals beat the sinking Brewers to keep a 3-game lead.  But they’re losing a day game today.  If the Professor can keep the momentum going and outduel Thor at Citi Field, it could be down to 2.  Let’s keep trending up and hopefully that weird thing in baseball where a team has a great month and then a letdown month happens to St. Louis once September begins.  And the opposite happens to the Cubbies.  Hey, Javy hit his first homer in a spell last night.  Power surge approaching for El Mago?  He tends to hit in bunches.  Let’s get another one in NY tonight!
