Dined with my sisters at La Josie in West Loop over the weekend. Got there for a late night reservation after enjoying several of these 3 Floyds Yum Yums at Meg’s in Humboldt Park:
Really good beer. The pride of Munster, Indiana.
The Mexican hot spot on Randolph was still packed when we arrived at 10pm. Grabbed a drink at the bar – a mezcal old fashioned for me:
Switched it up to the El Guapo once we were seated at a table. It’s a peloton mezcal with jalapeno, lime, grapefruit and other good stuff. Enjoyed a couple of those with dinner. Ordered shrimp seviche and chips & guacamole while my sisters studied the entrees:
After all that reading, we each opted for tacos. Lots of seafood options:
I selected lobster tacos, which were incredible:
Meg got pastor, didn’t get to try those. Traded one lobster for one of Bridget’s steak tacos, another tasty choice:
After dinner we hopped over to Bar Siena to catch the last 3 innings of the Cubs rain-delayed battle against St. Louis. The bar staff was hard at work and thought we wanted the replay of the game – understandable they wouldn’t expect a live game happening in St. Louis after midnight. Alas, the Cubbies couldn’t pull out a win to top off our night.
All in all, though, a wonderful way to spend a rainy Saturday in the city.
