My neighbor Craig knows how to throw a darn good Super Bowl party. Last year we raged all night, so I was looking forward to this year’s celebration. I brought a 12-pack of Coors Light as a gift. Craig had a cooler specifically for Coors Light, as well as several craft beer coolers. The Super Bowl was lame, but at least it stayed close until the end. Better than a blowout, I suppose. Halftime show with Maroon 5 was lackluster. It was cool to see Big Boi come out, but he only did “I Like the Way You Move” and then peaced out.
There were probably 50 people in attendance and plenty of food. The host offered an ample spread and guests contributed. The main meal was BBQ pork & chicken from Smoke Daddy:
I also knocked back a bowl of hearty bean chili:
Someone even brought football-shaped dessert from Insomnia Cookies:
That’s a snickerdoodle.
I stuck it out until almost midnight. The party continued, I’m certain, after I left. Can’t wait to see what happens next year, when the Bears are in the SB.
