Lauri Markkanen back on the basketball court is a sight for sore eyes. He showed considerable rust, but also hit a couple threes and drove the lane for buckets that reminded me of what he can be for this Bulls team. The King of the North is the franchise. He’s got more help than last time he took the court. A complete Zach LaVine, a complementary big man in Wendell Carter Jr. and Jabari Parker, who is making strides in realizing his role in Chicago. Soon, Kris Dunn and Bobby Portis will be healthy, too. My hope is that everyone stays reasonably uninjured the remainder of the year and we get a clear glimpse at how the pieces fit around Lauri. The loss the Rockets is meaningless in the big picture. It’s about getting the main man back in the flow.
