Can’t always get to Greektown to satisfy a gyros craving. Up on Addison & Western – in the Roscoe Village/Northcenter area, couple miles straight west of Wrigley Field – Big Boys Gyros answers the call. Gyro meat, fresh pita, onions, tomatoes & tsatziki – consistent, high-quality gyros sandwich. Cheese fries make the perfect side and wash it all down with a styrofoam cup of Coke. Can’t be beat. The guy who runs the place is a friendly fella. He and the cook were wondering aloud if the Bulls were at home tonight for a 7pm start. Luckily, I was sitting there to confirm the 7 o’clock home game versus Toronto. They were growing weary of college football after a full day of dull games. The TV had Boston College-Florida State on…not super compelling. It was about 5:30pm, so they were prepared to go Bulls pregame within the hour. Great gyros, great people. Stop in and eat.
